Greeting Screamin’ Eagle People by Alois Hoffmann
If you were at our annual meeting banquet on March 9th at Centralia, you know that we have some changes in the operation of the Screamin ' Eagles Case Club. So in this next paragraph containing the minutes of the March 9th meeting, our procedure of operation for the immediate future will be somewhat explained.
Alois called the meeting to order. First on the agenda was the election of officers. President Alois announced that Jim and Mary Peeper have expressed their desire to step down from the office of secretaries. Motion was made that Alois Hoffmann remain as President and Wayne Russell remain as Treasurer. Alois would like to divide up the responsibility of the office of Secretary, such as one person would be responsible for running the raffle, purchasing the items and making the tickets. Another person to send out newsletters. Alois will pick up writing the newsletter.
Alois reminded members that the National Case summer show will be held at Albert City, Iowa, on August 8-10th, put on jointly by the Heritage Foundation and JICCA.
Alois reported that the building on the show grounds is in good shape not needing any major repair. Progress is being made to move the old Dick Mill from southeastern Cooper County to the MSRVEA show grounds. The mill was given to the show grounds but must be dismantled to move. Our club is donating $1000 toward the cost of the new small engine building recently erected on the grounds.
Raffle tickets were drawn 1st prize a pedal tractor was won by member Earl Switzer. 2nd prize was a Case clock won by Chris Muenke and 3rd prize a Case metal sign was won by Mike Holder. A 50/50 drawing was won by Richard Buxton for $21. Some attendance prizes were awarded.
Meeting was adjourned and then members enjoyed a delicious catered meal.
Respectfully submitted Mary Peeper Retiring Secretary
Now I will explain how the club will temporarily operate, until we have a Secretary. This will be the last newsletter that will be sent out by US mail. If you are receiving your newsletter by Email that should continue. We will write a newsletter 3 or 4 times a year and post it on the Missouri Screamin’ Eagles website, under the Newsletter tab. If you do not have a computer or E mail, please let us know. We will then notify you of upcoming events only, by postcard.
As of now, James Holder has agreed to take over the operation of our yearly raffle. He will be in charge of acquiring the prizes and making up the tickets. If you pick up your tickets at the Boonville show it will help save on postage. Tickets will be sent out after the Boonville show to members who have not picked their tickets up.
We still need to have someone to do mailings, both sending out by regular mail, and Email. We also need someone to take minutes during meetings. All this can be done by more than one person to spread out the workload.
We are currently planning on having a meeting toward the very last part of June. When a time, date and location is set you will receive notification. In late August we will set a work day at the building to get ready for the Boonville show. We will also have a meeting in late October or early November at a location to be determined. The Annual meeting will be in March 2026.
Remember that the Paris, Missouri show on July 10-12, 2025 is a Case feature.
In 2026 Case will be the feature at our Boonville show. It will not be a National show for either Heritage or JICCA. However it will be the beginning of our 30th anniversary which takes place in December 2026.
If you have any questions, Please call me, Alois Hoffmann 618-920-1176
IN MEMORY
Merlin Schnell, father of Mary Russell, and father in law to Wayne Russell passed away on May 18, 2025 at age 101. May he rest in peace.
Reviewing the contents of this newsletter
The more you use the website or send us your Email information to missouriscreamineagles@gmail.com, the more it will save the club in postage, envelopes, ink, labels and paper for mailings. The US Postal Service has been very slow the past few years so that may cause delays in receiving your notice of events. The time involved in getting all the mailings together will also be reduced. So please check the website and send us your E mail address to missouriscreamineagles@gmail.com.
The Grease Rag for the for sale and wanted items will continue and you will either send them to the Screamin Eagles Email address or call myself. Please if your item is sold, let us know so it can be taken off the list.
This newsletter is being mailed by the end of May. As soon as the wheat harvest is finished we will schedule a meeting and notify you by Email or postcard, of the time and location of the meeting.
Thanks to all who have helped with this newsletter.
Thank you, Alois Hoffmann, President
